The paints in the works you specified are watercolours, then the pen is your ordinary felt tip pen, the thinner one used for the contour can be gotten in a range of sizes, going down to just a millimeter or less, then the thicker pen looks more like a black marker thats actually kind of dried up, you can see it doesn't really leave much mark on the skin part towards the nose. Using different mediums in the same artwork is reffered to as mixed media, and artists do it all the time. Is she just mixing things up in general?
